This species not only makes for an amazing pet, but considering you will hatch up to 250 baby mantids from each egg case, you will have plenty to feed your reptiles and amphibians. Chameleons absolutely relish them!

The egg case can be refrigerated until you would like them to hatch. The babies appear at about 1/4" in size and can be fed fruit flies or pinhead crickets. If allowed to grow, they will eventually reach about 3" in length.

Praying Mantis Egg Case Information
Your European Praying mantis egg case (called an "ooth") will produce many of both sexes. The ooth can be refrigerated until you would like them to hatch. All that is necessary for the eggs to hatch is room temperature for three to eight weeks. Once the babies emerge (at about 1/4" in length), they can be fed fruit flies and pinhead crickets. They make for very entertaining and docile pets, and excellent feeders.
